Philip Campbell

Philip Campbell was Editor-in-Chief of Nature from 1995 to 2018, when he became the Editor-in-Chief of Nature’s publisher Springer Nature, which publishes many scholarly books and academic journals addressing global societal challenges. Campbell's distinguished career began with a PhD and postdoctoral research in atmospheric physics. He served as Physical Sciences Editor at Nature from 1979 to 1988, before founding Physics World as its Editor-in-Chief from 1988 to 1995. Throughout his career, Campbell has been recognized for his significant contributions to science, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and an elected Fellow of the Institute of Physics.
